Automotive Technician School Training

Program Benefits

The occupational objectives of this program are to prepare students for entry-level positions as automotive technicians at automotive car and truck dealerships, repair shops, service stations, etc. All instruction is applied to cars and trucks of the past present and future including vehicles of alternate fuels. Courses will consist of lessons in class followed by practice in the shop. Concentration will be placed on internal combustion engines including Gas, Diesel, Rotary, and Small Engine Repair, hand and power tools, fundamentals of automotive technology (including HVAC, welding, restraint systems and NYS Inspection), electrical and electronic systems, engine performance, brakes, and suspension and steering systems.

Hands-On Training

Our on-the-job teaching approach helps you learn the skills you will need while performing hands-on training in some of the most fully-equipped and modern diagnostic repair facilities in the automotive industry.

Automotive Technician

(1200 Hours)

The curriculum focuses on employable skills, preparing students for the actual tasks they will perform while working as a service technician, service advisor, or parts counter person in one of today’s automotive repair shops or dealerships. Students’ work with the latest automotive repair equipment, as well as equipment found more commonly in the older repair shops, so they will be competent in both settings. CIH&T offers internships with top manufacturers.
